He grew up in Parker and graduated from Legend High School in 2013. Julien has been active in helping his community at a young age. He has many hours of volunteering through different organizations, and takes pride in earning his Eagle Scout Award in 2011 from Troop 469 in Parker.

Julien commuted via light rail to the University of Denver and earned a B.A. in Political Science and a minor in Psychology. After graduating, he received his teaching certificate and began working for Douglas County School District. He has been working for 7 years as the media and technology teacher and flag football coach at Rocky Heights in Highlands Ranch.

In 2020, Julien was elected to serve as the Director for RTD District G, representing areas of Castle Rock, Lone Tree, Parker, Centennial, and Aurora. Douglas County has been Julien's center from the beginning. His focus is on giving back to his county.

Vision for Douglas County

Douglas County is one of the fastest growing Counties in the state of Colorado. It is crucial to balance the growth in our County with the impacts on small businesses, traffic, transportation, parks and open space, water rights, and local education.

As a Board of County Commissioners, it is essential that we create more opportunities to listen to the concerns of our communities, and learn their vision, to ensure positive collaboration as we step towards the future.

Julien is confident that his experience, growing up in and being devoted to this county as a community champion and elected representative, equips him to be the caring and competent  Commissioner that the future of Douglas County deserves.
