RTD Director
As an RTD Director, Julien spearheaded the Fare Free Transit Initiative for the 2022 midterm elections. As a result, all rides on RTD vehicles were free on Election Day and on National Vote Early Day.
Julien also served on the Ad Hoc Zero Emission Vehicle (ZEV) Committee. RTD is now committed to a zero emission fleet by 2050.
In 2021, Julien worked with multiple elected officials and departments, keeping passengers safe from crime and COVID-19.
Julien successfully lobbied for and won reinstatement of Route P, the one of the highest utilized routes in the state, and the Route 483 for the Town of Parker.
Leadership for Local Communities
With Julien's leadership, RTD launched the 1-year pilot program, Zero Fare for Youth. Between September 2023 and August 2024, everyone 19 and under may ride RTD for free.
During the months of July and August, in 2022 and 2023, the Zero Fare for Better Air program allowed individuals to ride RTD vehicles for free.
In order to make public transportation accessible to a larger population, the Board approved a more efficient and affordable fare structure.
